Computer Aided Design (CAD) I (8530)

Grade level: 10*, 11 Credit: 3
Prerequisites: Recommend completion of Geometry or concurrent enrollment; * With the approval of the WCTC
Principal and the student’s High School Principal

Students are introduced to the theory and the manipulative skills necessary to produce and complete drawing based on the ideas and sketches of engineers, architects, and designers. Students practice the fundamentals of design and prepare mechanical, structural, and architectural plans, using basic CAD operations. DRF 114, Drafting I is offered at WCTC as an optional dual credit class in conjunction with WCC provided applicable prerequisites are met.

 

Computer Aided Design (CAD) II (8531)

Grade level: 11, 12 Credit: 3
Prerequisites: Computer Aided Design I

Students master the theory and the manipulative skills necessary to produce complete and accurate drawings based on the ideas and sketches of engineers, architects, and designers. They design and prepare mechanical, structural, and architectural plans.
DRF 201, computer Aided Drafting and Design is offered at WCTC as an optional dual credit class in conjunction with WCC provided applicable prerequisites are met.
