Cosmetology I (8527) --State Competency List

Grade level: 11 Credit: 3
Prerequisites: None

This program is designed to teach entry-level skills in the field of cosmetology. Areas covered include the theory and practice of hair care, skin care, and nail care. Other areas covered include anatomy, salon management, chemistry, and electricity as they pertain to the course.

 

Cosmetology II (8528) --State Competency List

Grade level: 11, 12 Credit: 3
Prerequisite: Cosmetology I with “C” average or better

This course is one in which students continue their study of the theory and practice of the manipulative skills required for licensure. Those competencies taught in Cosmetology I are reinforced, with emphasis placed on advanced hair design techniques, and state board preparation. Upon successful completion of Cosmetology I and II and competency completions, the student is eligible to take the State Board of Cosmetology Exam.
